The University Career Services Internship Program connects students with experiential learning opportunities that complement their academic coursework and prepare them for professional success after graduation. While many employers offer paid internships, some high-impact opportunities, particularly within nonprofit, public service, and smaller organizations, are unpaid. This funding helps ensure students can participate in meaningful internships regardless of an organization鈥檚 ability to provide compensation.

The Charles M. and Joan R. Taylor Foundation is now stepping forward to sustain and strengthen this work, making it possible for more students to gain meaningful, paid experiential learning opportunities that prepare them for life after graduation.鈥�

The Taylor family has long been committed to education, workforce preparation, and civic leadership in Arkansas. Through this support, the Foundation is helping ensure students can participate in internships that build skills and professional experience without added financial strain, while employers gain access to talented, motivated students.

Marshall joined 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock at the end of the spring 2024 semester. She is a two-time 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock graduate who holds an undergraduate degree in psychology and a graduate degree in higher education.

As the career specialist in University Career Services, Marshall coordinates the University Career Services Internship Program, which provides students the opportunity to gain real-world experience and connect with industry professionals.

Along with organizing career-related events and conducting community outreach, Marshall also assists students and alumni with resumes, job search techniques, and interview preparation. She is currently working on developing a career readiness course for 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock students.

鈥淒uring Michelle鈥檚 short time at University Career Services, she has demonstrated passion in her counseling with students on professional development and career exploration,鈥� Director of University Career Services Brittany Straw said. 鈥淪he can organically connect with our students and meet them where they are.鈥�

In July, Marshall was one of 100 participants chosen to attend the Management Leadership Institute cohort.

鈥淚t was a phenomenal experience to engage with career services leaders from across the U.S., where we shared our successes, tackled challenges, and found solutions together,鈥� Marshall said. 鈥淭his collaboration gave us a strong support network to rely on as we returned to our institutions with fresh ideas. Now, as I oversee the University Career Services Internship Program, I鈥檓 excited to implement these insights to benefit our students and the broader university community.鈥�
