Workday is now the system of record for Human Capital Management, Finance, and Student processes at Vlogý Little Rock, a massive milestone in our multi-year effort to modernize and simplify the university’s core systems. Thank you to everyone who tested, trained, and adapted along the way. Your collaboration made this achievement possible!

 Banner & Argos Decommissioning Schedule

  • Starting in late October, IT Services began removing most Banner user access.
  • On November 1, 2025, Banner was fully retired and will remain read-only for a very small, approved group strictly for historical reference.
  • Argos reports connected to Banner will also be retired.

What You Should Do

  • Review and update any forms, websites, or instructions that still mention Banner, BOSS, or the T-number (T#) identifier. Replace these with Workday and Workday ID standards.
  • Submit a ticket to IT Services for any reports or data you still access through Banner or Argos.
  • Direct all questions to IT Services.

Fall 2025 Registration is Now Open in Workday Student – Help Us Keep the Momentum Going!

We are excited to announce that registration for Fall 2025 classes is now open in Workday Student. We’ve had a strong start, but there is still critical work to be done to ensure that all students have a smooth registration experience.

Workday

As we continue the transition from Banner to Workday Student, it is crucial that students do not delay in accessing the system. They must complete a few key steps before they are eligible to register, including onboarding and resolving any registration holds that may be in place. Your support in spreading this message across campus is invaluable—Access, Onboard, Advise, Register!

Why Students Should Act Now

We encourage all students to engage with Workday as early as possible. Although our teams are actively addressing known issues, such as occasional access problems or configuration errors, early action provides students the flexibility to troubleshoot without the pressure of registration deadlines. Transitioning to a new student information system is a significant undertaking, and although we are working diligently to minimize disruptions, minor issues may still arise.

By proactively logging in and resolving holds now, students can ensure they register on time and avoid unnecessary stress in the future. Advisors and faculty are encouraged to remind students to: Access, Onboard, Advise, Register, and to reach out to them if they encounter any issues.

Where to Get Help

Students who encounter issues in Workday can contact IT Services visit the IT Help Desk, check the Workday Student support page on the university website, or contact the Registrar’s Office for assistance. We are committed to supporting students throughout this transition and appreciate your continued partnership.

Thank you for helping us make this transition a success!

Your efforts are helping us pave the way for a modern, streamlined student experience. Let’s maintain the momentum by encouraging early action and ensuring students are well-prepared for a successful registration for Fall 2025. Don’t delay accessing Workday today!

The Workday Student implementation is well underway and progressing steadily toward the July 2024 milestone. The scope of this milestone includes admissions for all programs, application fees/deposits, and additional academic foundation training which will prepare the Admissions Staff and Applicants for Fall 2025.

A critical part of this process involves the collaboration between IT Services and the Workday vendor to convert and  integrate Vlogý Little Rock’s legacy student system with Workday. Following are the major Workday Student Technical Workstreams:

  • Data Conversion – The data conversion process is focused on extracting, transforming, and loading Vlogý Little Rock Main Campus, Clinton, and Law information into Workday. The next milestone is initiating the production data pull. This crucial step begins transitioning from testing to live implementation and leveraging Workday Student’s full capabilities. We want to emphasize the collaborative efforts across teams that are being made to address challenges that will ensure a smooth transition through rigorous testing and validation procedures, guaranteeing data accuracy and integrity.
  • Integrations – Developing integrations for Workday Student involves reviewing an inventory of over 80 currently used campus auxiliary applications. Throughout this process, we will determine whether to migrate the application to a Workday report, build a Workday integration, or decommission the service.
  • Reporting – We have invested significantly in training 21 report writers across various campus departments. This ensures their proficiency in effectively utilizing Workday’s reporting tools and makes them feel valued and integral to the process. In addition, we have identified 184 existing reports that must be migrated to the Workday Student platform. We are currently implementing security role-based assignments within Workday Student to ensure that appropriate employees have access to the proper reports.

Workday Student Change Management and Project Status As Our Team Works to Deliver Milestone 1 /itservices/2024/04/01/workday-student-change-management-and-project-status/ Mon, 01 Apr 2024 14:17:49 +0000 https://ualrprd.wpengine.com/itservices/?p=17024 Workday Student will be the primary student administration system to support the processes and services associated with a student's progression from admission through graduation.

As we all know, technical change is inevitable, and those changes keep coming faster and faster, making it sometimes seem overwhelming to keep up. However, for our campus to move with the times, we must embrace, accept, and feel confident about these changes, especially as we transition to Workday Student.

Workday Student will be the primary student administration system to support the processes and services associated with a student’s progression from admission through graduation, including student records, registration, course rosters, grading, advising, and transcripts.

All faculty, staff, and students will use Workday Student!

You may hear the names Project One, Deloitte, and Cohort 2. Project One is the University of Arkansas Systems team responsible for overseeing the implementation of Workday Student. Deloitte is our implementation partner. Vlogý Little Rock is in Cohort 2 of the project, alongside the other 4 year institutions within the Vlogý System.

Workday Student Cohort 2 Deployment Timeline!

Please take the opportunity to review each milestone, the areas involved, and who each milestone will touch.

The Milestone 1 project is currently being developed to align with the beginning of the student life cycle and enable undergraduate, graduate, and law admissions offices to begin feeding Fall 2025 applicant data into the Workday production environment.

We are deeply engaged in building integrations between our undergraduate and graduate Slate admissions application and Law School Admission Council (LSAC) Unite admissions application environments to support this need. We will continue to refine and test these integrations in anticipation of the upcoming milestone in July 2024.

Workday Student Core Team!

The Student Core Team deserves recognition and thanks for all the hard work they have contributed to this major project. Team members have been dedicated, hard-working, and vigilant while not only performing their critical “day” jobs, but also ensuring they are involved in every step of the building process of Workday Student for our Vlogý Little Rock campus.

This implementation is a heavy-lifting effort for a generational change on our campus. The dedication and attentiveness to all the intricate parts that need to be covered are crucial for this implementation to run smoothly for our students and colleagues.
