The Middle Eastern Studies (MEST) Program invites 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock faculty to apply for grants to support their teaching and scholarship in the area of MEST. Grants for full-time faculty typically range from $2,000-$5,000, but larger proposals will be considered. Part-time (adjunct) faculty can apply for small grants of up to $1,000. Grants will be reviewed by the Middle Eastern Studies Committee.
Faculty are encouraged to think creatively about the activities that the grants could fund. Academic projects related to any aspect of the Middle East or MEST course development are applicable. Scholars from all academic disciplines are encouraged to apply.
How to Apply
Please submit a detailed letter of application, budget, and curriculum vitae to:
Dr. Simon Hawkins, MEST Coordinator
[email protected]
Applicants should describe how their activities would fit into their agenda of聽scholarship and/or teaching, and how, due to the grant, they could contribute to聽the advancement of MEST at 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock. Include a preliminary budget and the聽total amount requested; the budget should be itemized and as detailed as possible.聽For teaching proposals, a commitment to teach a course on a topic pertaining to an聽aspect of MEST backed by a letter from a departmental chair is not required but聽would substantially increase the chance of being funded. Those who have not聽received the grant in the past will be given priority.
All grant recipients are expected to provide an output to the 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock community that is consistent with the funded project, e.g., teaching a class or delivering a public presentation. All grantees must submit a report documenting how the funds were used. All recipients must acknowledge the MEST Program in any presentations of their material.
Applications for Summer 2025 are no longer being accepted.
