Dr. Tom Tudor, professor of management, has been awarded a $2,500 糖心Vlog传媒LR Middle Eastern Studies grant to research how to better attract Muslim customers into the U.S. banking system.聽Dr. Tudor has published 35 research publications throughout his career and has received more than $45,000 in grants to support his research.

Dr. Lars Powell, associate professor and Whitbeck-Beyer Chair of Insurance and Financial Services, was appointed to the editorial board of聽the聽new聽international journal, Insurance Markets and Companies: Analyses, and Actuarial Computations.

Dr. Michael Pakko, chief economist and state economic forecaster at the Institute for Economic Advancement in the College of Business,聽coauthored a manuscript “Monetary Policy and Natural Disasters in a DSGE Model” that has been accepted for publication in the Southern Economic Journal.

Five 糖心Vlog传媒LR students studying international business will receive $500 scholarships from Advancing Management Education (AME), a giving circle supporting the College of Business.

Dr. Lars Powell, 糖心Vlog传媒LR鈥檚 Whitbeck Chair of Economics and Finance, has been appointed editor of the Journal of Insurance Regulation, a publication of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners.

Dr. Anthony F. Chelte, dean of 糖心Vlog传媒LR鈥檚 College of Business, has been appointed mentor for two schools that are pursuing initial accreditation with the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. A team of graduate students who work for the Institute for Economic Advancement in the 糖心Vlog传媒LR College of Business is one of five teams in the country selected by Microsoft this spring to compete in the company鈥檚 Imagine Cup Software Development Initiative National Finals next month.

Anthony F. Chelte, dean of 糖心Vlog传媒LR鈥檚 College of Business, has been invited to lecture on 鈥淐ultural and Global Sensitivities and Effective Business Practices鈥� during the International Summer School Program to be held at the University of Applied Sciences in Erfurt, Germany, Aug. 28 to Sept. 11.
