The ÌÇÐÄVlog´«Ã½ Little Rock Faculty Mentoring Program (FMP) is designed to help new university faculty successfully navigate their first year at ÌÇÐÄVlog´«Ã½ Little Rock, as well as fostering overall development. Supported by the Office of the Provost, the FMP includes an initial day-long orientation followed by monthly workshops throughout the academic year. New faculty in all faculty roles, including full-time tenure track, full time non-tenure track, and visiting positions, are invited to participate in this program.
The FMP provides faculty with a cohort of peers new to the university. Over the academic year, participants benefit from useful workshops, panel discussions, and resource development in a supportive environment. FMP participants will have the opportunity to learn and interact with seasoned faculty members, excellence award recipients, and administrative leaders, as well as gaining access to many additional resources to advance their faculty development.
After completion of the initial year, new faculty are encouraged to maintain contact with the peers in their FMP cohort, continue informal communication with faculty panelists, and pursue mentoring relationships both within and external to their own academic units. Program graduates receive a letter of completion, which is copied to their academic unit head and dean.
